Membership

We value our Junior players and enjoy seeing them develop their skills.  Juniors can get involved through coaching, interclub, junior club days and practicing at your convenince.

Junior membership includes the ability to book and a court key for practice any time the courts are available (ie: not already booked for coaching, interclub matches, or BTC events). Use our court booking system via our website and arrange social hits via the Juniors WhatsApp group chats.

Junior Hits

To build confidence in younger players we are offering a Junior Hits informal session with volunteer adults (we welcome your help).  Junior members are able to join Junior Hits on Sunday 2.15pm to 3.00pm at no additiona cost.   This only operates in good weather during Term 4 and Term 1.  To build the social fabric of the club, please feel free to bring a treat to share or a friend to try it out.

Coaching

Our most popular option for Juniors is the Tuesday afternoon lessons with our Club Coach.  If you are interested, please check out the Coaching page.

Interclub

Birkenhead Tennis Club is part of the Tennis Northern Association and plays in their Interclub competitions.

There is an option to play Junior Interclub games on Saturdays in term 4 and term 1.  For our older junior members (15 and older) there is also the option to take part in Senior Interclub.

FAQ's

How do I join the club as a member?

A: Select the membership package that you wish to purchase under the membership tab and fill out your details. Make a payment using one of the options (credit card or bank transfer). Once the club has received your payment you will be an active member.

How do I access the courts and clubhouse?

A: Members receive a key to the courts and clubhouse (please allow for one week). This allows you to enter our facilities downstairs. Non-members must be accompanied by a club member to play.

How do I book a court?

A: Only members can book courts for free. First, go to the court booking tab and click on the time that you are interested in booking. Next, select how long you wish to play. Next, you will need to input who you are playing with and whether they are a member or guest. Once you have done this please also check the court booking rules if you are not familiar with them. These are on a sub-page on the court bookings tab.

Can I bring a friend or family member along to play with me?

A: Yes, as long as they are a member or have paid their visitors fee into the club bank account (see Visitors Policy for details).

How do I book coaching sessions?

A: There is information about the coaching offered under the Coaching tab. To book a coaching session contact our head coach directly. This will provide you with more specific and up to date information about the courses available.
