Seniors

Senior Membership and Club Sessions

There are regular club days and club nights all year round for Senior members. Club days are held on Saturday afternoons in the winter and on Sunday afternoons in the summer from 1.30pm onwards. Club nights run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm-10pm.

Generally, on club days and nights we play doubles and swap around after about 20 minutes of play. The tennis is of a good level but also very social. A sit down for coffee/tea and biscuits is usually part of the programme.

Midweek members are welcome to come along and see if they would like to play in these sessions but to do so regularly does require you to be a Senior member. Juniors who are playing senior interclub are also able to attend.

Several events and social activities take place during the year, including fun tournaments, the Senior Club Championships, and the Over 40s Tournament, which is a great wind-up to the summer season. On a few occasions, the club hires indoor courts at the Wellington Renouf Tennis Centre on a weekend afternoon for a change in venue and a social occasion for both Senior and Midweek members.

If you have any questions about Senior membership, please contact the Membership Secretary at membership@karoritennis.co.nz.

Senior Interclub

The club enters several Senior teams, men’s, women’s and mixed, at all levels, in the summer and winter interclub competitions run by Tennis Capital-Coast. Play is on Saturday or Sunday and some weeknights at clubs in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast. The summer competitions run from the beginning of school term 4 until early December and then again from early February until late March. The winter doubles competition runs from mid-June until mid-September.

If you’re interested in playing interclub tennis, please get in touch with Club Captain, Seth Campbell here.
