There are a couple of key amendments that will require feedback from our members.
1. Name change from Richmond Tennis Club to Richmond Rackets Club
With the addition of permanent pickleball courts and growing membership, we propose considering a shift from "Tennis Club" to "Rackets Club" to better reflect the diverse range of racket sports offered at the facility. This change is intended to embrace the evolution of the club while honoring our founding tennis volunteers, whose contributions have been instrumental in establishing the club and its facilities. Our goal is to create a more inclusive environment for all racket sports and provide a space where everyone feels welcome to participate.
2. Changing our auditing process
Currently, the club undergoes an annual audit by an approved auditor, which incurs significant costs. We are using Xero accounting software, which provides more efficient and accurate bookkeeping we also do not sit in a tier that require us to have a yearly audit. To reduce expenses, we propose shifting to an annual peer review, while still retaining a bookkeeper to oversee and verify transactions. This approach would be more cost-effective while maintaining the integrity of our financial processes.
3. Membership
4. Disputes process.
All feedback and suggestions must be sent to secretary@richmondtennisclub.co.nz
Deadline for feedback is Monday 28 April 2025
