Northland Junior Sunday Series 2025

The Tennis Northland Junior Sunday Series ran from 23 February 2025 to 30 March 2025 (6 weeks).

  • Players must be members of a club affiliated to Tennis Northland
  • Players will play singles and will be guaranteed at least two matches each week
  • Each week parents/club junior coordinators must confirm by Wednesday who is available to play that week. A draw will then be circulated on the Friday with the players who are available to play. This means that each player does not have to be available every single week if they are unable to.
  • There are two grades: Competitive Grade and Development Grade (usually under 10 years of age, new to tennis, using green dot balls)
  • Players will be scheduled matches against players of a similar ability.
  • Tennis balls are provided by Tennis Northland
  • Entry fee is $10 per person (this will be invoiced to the club)
  • Format:
    • Competitive Grade: First to 9 games with a super tiebreaker at 8 all (first to 10 points with a 2 point margin). Normal tennis scoring applies.
    • Development Grade: First to 4 games with a tiebreaker at 3 all. Short deuce rule applies (whenever the score reaches deuce, the next point wins the game).
