Tennis Xpress: Adult/Student Coaching on selected Fridays 6:00 to 7:00pm 6 lessons with a minimum 4 players with each coach to proceed. Refund if an insufficient number. Dates may vary due to weather and coach availability. This program is the most enjoyable way to learn tennis for adult beginner and intermediate players. We aim to make your tennis experience an enjoyable and rewarding one by trained coaches.
Beginner Adults over 16 years or Students@High School 13 - 17 years. Lessons and light tennis only. Coaching on Fridays 6pm to 7pm on selected dates in season.

Red Ball newbie 4-6 years, returning 7-8 years.
The red ball is larger than a yellow ball and doesn’t bounce as high (just 25% compression), making it a breeze for even the youngest players to hit comfortably. The courts and nets used in the Red stage are much smaller making it easier for kids to move around and enjoy success. Red level players may be beginners, improvers or even advanced players.
If your child is new to tennis and is 7-8 years old, then please select Red Ball Returning.
Orange Ball 8-10 years
(if completed Red Ball previously)
After mastering the Red stage this stage the players are able to develop a complete technical range. Modified Orange Balls (50% compression) fly slower through the air and bounce in the hitting zone of the player. This fast tracks their stroke development and allows them to have longer rallies and hit more tennis balls. With the increased dimensions from 1/2 court, players tracking improves and court awareness.
Green Ball 11 years and older
The ball used in the Green stage has a higher compression than the Red and Orange stages (75% of a yellow tennis ball) and children play on a full-size court. Green players may be older children who are new to tennis or players of a good standard who have progressed through the Red and Orange stages. This is where the players will develop a full understanding of tennis fundamentals and rules.
Yellow Ball
Players who have progressed from Hot Shots Green will find the Yellow Ball Squads Program the perfect opportunity to keep learning the sport and/or keep playing in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

Once booked in, it is confirmed and the club will be in touch before it starts.

Head Coach Mat Mc Cutcheon is overseeing the Hot Shots coaching programme at Balmacewen in Term 4 and Term 1.
Players will be confirmed in groups based on ability and not necessarily age. Minimum 4 with each coach.
We can't schedule coaching at Edgar if wet. Coaching can't happen if it is wet due to safety and our equipment. Please collect your child if rain starts.
We will do our best to deliver the 8 lessons each term weather permitting. Sundays maybe used for catch up lessons if needed.
