Tennis Hot Shots is learning through play with modified equipment that has a progressive pathway. This allows kids to develop their skills right from the start, and continue learning at a pace that suits them!
We offer the full Tennis New Zealand Hot Shots programme that caters for all ages and abilities for pre interclub players. Hot Shots are all about teaching kids about tennis and having lots of fun.
Our Hot Shots Programme will:
- Teach you the basic technique of how to hit forehands, backhands, volleys and serves.
- Provide the fundamentals of hand-eye coordination for longer rallies.
- Teach you how to play tennis and prepare you for interclub level play.

HOT SHOTS STAGES
The Blue Stage introduces children to tennis through games and fun activities. Children learn the basics of tennis including how to rally using lots of adapted equipment such as balloons, big balls and beanbags. Often, blue sessions are held indoors in spaces more suited to small people.
The Red stage is for beginners. The red ball is larger than a yellow ball and doesn’t bounce as high, making it a breeze for even the youngest players to hit it comfortably. While the courts and nets used in the red stage are much smaller and easier for kids to move around.
After mastering the Red stage, children move on to the Orange stage where the ball bounces a little higher and faster and the court is a bit bigger.
The ball used in the Green stage bounces higher and faster than the orange ball and children play on a full-size court.
Finally, when they are ready, kids graduate to the yellow ball and play on a full-size court.

You will need to register and pay first before you can book directly into a Coaching group...

Once you have paid, please Select your Coaching Group below and click on Book Now. Term 1 bookings with dates will be made available in January. If unsure which group, please pick one you think is best, it can be changed by the Coaches later if needed.

Cancellations: You will be emailed at 2:45pm before the lessons, if no email then it's on.

4:00pm - 4:50pm: Red Ball Returning 6 - 8 yrs BOOK NOW
4:00pm - 4:50pm: Orange Ball 8 - 10 yrs BOOK NOW
5:00pm - 5:50pm: Green Ball 11+ yrs BOOK NOW
