Junior Coaching

Saturday Morning Junior Group Coaching available School Terms 4 & 1

This is a club-based program run by the club coach Pete O’Dea and our Assistant Coach Olivia Desset. It is designed to be lots of fun where children get to put into practise what they are being coached!

We follow the "Hotshots" format with lots of fun warm up drills and games with the help of parents, and on court matches, and treats.

Term 4 - Commences Saturday October 19, 2024. Ages 5 - 13

Children are split into groups depending on age and ability. There are 4 groups, ages 5 - 7 9:00am; ages 8 - 9 9:40am; ages 10+ girls 10:30am, ages 10+ boys 11:30am.

For Child and Junior members cost per term is $30 for non-members cost is $100 per term.

These sessions all share the same philosophy - learning through play; using modified equipment; a progressive pathway. This allows kids to develop their skills right from the start and continue learning at a pace that suits them!

Using modified equipment means kids can play an adult version of the game from the very start, developing technical, tactical, physical and mental skills without being put off by huge courts, heavy racquets and balls that bounce too high.

Children are required to bring their tennis racquets, drink bottles, sun hat, and have sunscreen, ready to start their lessons.

Whilst we have a professional coach teaching the children together with co coaches, we encourage parents to be actively engaged and on the courts. Parental help with collecting balls will help Pete maximise valuable coaching time.
