COVID-19 Restrictions

From Friday 3 December 2021 until further notice, Kilbirnie Tennis Club is operating under COVID-19 Protection Framework Orange Traffic Light restrictions.

Vaccine pass required for entry

Kilbirnie Tennis Club is restricted to people with a My Vaccine Pass.  Only people with a vaccine pass are allowed to use any of the courts, clubrooms, or the surround.  This restriction applies to all club users including casual players, interclub players from other clubs, coaches, and students being taught by coaches.

Children under 12 years 3 months are exempt.

There no restrictions on vaccine pass holders at the club. Please note that as the we do not have staff on site, we are not able to guarantee that all visitors to the club have a vaccine pass. Therefore please exercise other precautions as outlined below.

Check members of your party

When visiting the club, please ensure that all members of your party have a vaccine pass.

If you are an Interclub Team Manager and a tie for your team is being held at Kilbirnie, please check well before the tie that everyone in your team and the opposing team (through the opposing team manager) is aware of this policy and that they have a vaccine pass. This is to avoid any difficult issues on the day of the tie. Let your team know that anyone accompanying them, such family members, guardians, partners, and friends, must also have a vaccine pass.

If you are an Interclub Team Manager and a tie for your team is being held at another venue, please ensure that your team (and anyone accompanying them) comply with the COVID-19 policy at that venue.

Contact tracing

Scan in or keep a manual record of your visits to the club.

COVID Tracer QR code posters are located at the club entrances so you can record your visits with the NZ COVID Tracer app (available on Google Play and the iPhone App Store).

Paper slips are also available at the clubrooms, just above the honesty box, if you are not able to use the COVID Tracer app. Place completed slips in the honesty box. These will only be shared with COVID-19 contact tracers.

Face coverings

Wearing of face coverings is encouraged when not playing tennis.

Physical distancing

Try to maintain distance from people you do not know when at the club. For example:

  • Change ends at the other side of the net to your opponent
  • Don’t congregate at the net
  • Keep your distance when talking to others
  • Use racquet bumps instead of handshakes

Hygiene and cleaning

Keep up good hygiene measures, including washing and drying hands before and after any activity and coughing/sneesing into your elbow.

Exercise caution with common touch points (gates and doors) and wash or sanitise your hands after touching these surfaces.

Wash and dry equipment before and after playing and minimise sharing of equipment and balls.

Bring your own hand sanitiser. With an access card, the clubrooms are open to club members with a My Vaccine Pass where you can also wash and dry or sanitise your hands. Water, hand soap, and paper towels are available in bathrooms and hand sanitiser is available on a table in the main room.

If unwell

If you have cold or flu symptoms, stay at home, isolate from others, and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting a COVID-19 test.
