COVID-19 Restrictions

From Friday 10 September 2021 until further notice, Kilbirnie Tennis Club is operating under COVID-19 Alert Level 2 restrictions.

If unwell

If you or members of your household are sick or have symptoms, stay at home. Call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting a test.

You should not leave home or participate in physical activity if you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, awaiting a test result, or required to self-isolate.

Contact tracing

You must record your visits to the club. Whether you are a club member, non-member, spectator, parent, child, or contractor, use either the NZ COVID Tracer app or the paper slips at the clubhouse to record your visits. Record keeping can make contact tracing faster and help slow the spread of the virus.

COVID Tracer QR code posters are located at the club entrances so you can record your visits with the NZ COVID Tracer app (available on Google Play and the iPhone App Store).

Paper slips are also available at the clubrooms, just above the honesty box, if you are not able to use the COVID Tracer app. Place completed slips in the honesty box. These will only be shared with COVID-19 contact tracers.

If you are using the NZ COVID Tracer app, consider enabling the Bluetooth tracing technology as well. Bluetooth tracing allows you to receive an alert if you have been near another app user who tests positive for COVID-19.

Physical distancing

Actively maintain a distance of 2 metres from others when at the club. For example:

  • Change ends at the other side of the net to your opponent
  • Don’t congregate at the net or the clubhouse
  • Keep your distance when talking to others
  • Use racquet bumps instead of handshakes

Face coverings

You should wear face coverings in situations where physical distancing is not possible.

Clubrooms

Avoid using the clubrooms but, if you need to use them, wear a face covering while inside (because of the limited space). Exit the clubrooms quickly to provide space for others who may also need to use the clubrooms.

Skip afternoon teas in the clubrooms after interclub matches to maintain physical distancing and prevent sharing of utensils.

Gatherings

Outside gatherings at the club are limited to 100 or fewer people. This is not expected to affect usual club activities.

Hygiene and cleaning

It is important that you adhere to basic hygiene measures, including washing and drying hands before and after any activity, coughing into your elbow (should you have COVID-19, this keeps the virus off your hands so you won’t spread it to other people), and avoid touching your face.

Exercise caution with common touch points (gates and doors) and wash or sanitise your hands after touching these surfaces.

Wash and dry equipment before and after playing and minimise sharing of equipment and balls.

Bring your own hand sanitiser. With an access card, the clubrooms are open to club members where you can also wash and dry or sanitise your hands. Water, hand soap, and paper towels are available in bathrooms and hand sanitiser is available on a table in the main room.

Stay vigilant with cleaning when using the clubrooms. Sanitize all surfaces you've touched or affected while inside as you leave. Disinfectant spray and cloths are available on a table in the main room for this purpose (use a separate paper towel for the toilet).

Rubbish

Take all rubbish home with you.
